Mozarella

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about what Mozarella is and how it works.

What is Mozarella?

Mozarella is a free song sketch pad that runs in the browser. You build a song from its parts: key, chords, sections, melody, instruments. You hear it as you go. AI vocals can sing the melody you wrote, and premium export gives you MIDI and stems for your studio.

Is Mozarella an AI music generator like Suno?

No. Tools like Suno turn a text prompt into a finished audio track. Mozarella builds an editable score. You decide the chords, the form, and the melody, change any of it at any time, and press play again. AI helps where you ask, but the song stays editable.

Is Mozarella a DAW?

No. Mozarella is for getting a song idea down fast, not for multitrack recording, automation, or mixing. Sketch here, then export MIDI and stems and finish in Cubase, Logic, Ableton, or any other DAW.

Does Mozarella run in the browser?

Yes. Composing and playback happen in the browser. There is nothing to install.

Do I need to know music theory?

It helps but is not required. The interface uses real musical terms and keeps what you build musically coherent, so you can work by ear and still land somewhere good.

What can I make with Mozarella?

Short original songs and sketches: chord progressions, verses and choruses, melodies, instrument arrangements. People use it for hooks, demos, and game and web music, and to test an idea before opening a DAW.

What is free and what is premium?

Composing and playback are free. Premium starts at $19 a month and adds the vocal engine, studio export with MIDI and stems, a wider range of sounds, and a royalty-free song library.

How do the AI vocals work?

You write a melody and lyrics. A singing voice model performs exactly that melody with your words. You pick the voice, listen to the take, and mix it into the song. It is not a black box that invents a track around you.

Can I edit one part without redoing the whole song?

Yes. Songs are made of sections and layers. Lock what you like, then rewrite or reroll the rest.

Can I take a Mozarella song into my DAW?

Yes. Studio export, part of premium, gives you a mix, stems, and multitrack MIDI that open in Cubase, Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, and most other DAWs.

Can I use what I make commercially?

Songs you compose are your own work. The premium song library is royalty free. Check the plan details in the app for the current terms.

Does Mozarella store my songs?

If you sign in you can save songs to your account and come back to them.
